Product Description
Here we have a fun S.S. Stewart acoustic archtop guitar! This one looks to be from the 1940s and is in good condition overall.
It has a spruce top with parallel braces, a rosewood fingerboard, adjustable rosewood bridge and a trapeze tailpiece. The body looks to be laminate with birch inside and figured maple on the outside. It has a tortoise guard, open gear strip tuners and a cool MOP logo headstock veneer.
This one shows light wear, pick marks, dings and scratches over its surface. There is light weather checking to the finish as well. There is a hole in the neck heel cap from a removed strap button. There is a bit of a gap between the heel and body but it seems stable.
This one weighs 4lbs 10oz. The neck measures .930 to 1.080 at the 1st and 9th. It has a full, vintage soft V neck profile. The guitar is warm and colorful with good volume and excellent sustain. It sets up ok with medium high action and is fun to play. It could probably use a little work, but at the price point we’ll leave that to the next owner to decide upon. As is, it’s a fun player and a guitar has survived quite well over time!
Ships in a vintage chipboard case.
